Isobionics B.V is a wholly owned subsidiary (around 25 employees) of BASF Nederland B.V. Isobionics is an ingredients company that develops and produces natural flavor and fragrance ingredients based on its proprietary biotech platform. It supplies components of citrus oils (orange, grapefruit, bergamot), important fragrance compounds present e.g., in Sandalwood oil, and many other basic building blocks for the Flavor & Fragrance industry. Operationally, Isobionics is part of BASF’s Aroma Ingredients business (ENA/A).
As a Global Operations Manager at Isobionics B.V., you will manage all the processes along our value chain, e.g., production, logistics and product quality. You will work at the interface of technical and commercial processes, where your main objective is to guarantee product supply in time and on spec.
In this position, your tasks can be divided into three main groups: planning, organizing, and controlling production and logistics; establishing new products and production processes; project management.
Per group, your tasks include:
Planning, organizing, and controlling production and logistics
- Support the conversion of sales forecasts into production planning.
- Plan, initiate and control product streams between several production sites.
- Follow up, control, and enforce production timelines.
- Keep track of (detailed) mass balances of our production processes and identify and react to deviations.
- Manage safety and quality throughout our production chains.
Establishing new products and production processes
- Implement new products into the existing production infrastructure.
- Collect and document required technical information for new/improved production processes.
- Facilitate communication within internal and external specialist teams.
- Collect and supply production cost details and support business decisions.
- Establish new production processes and related logistics in time and in budget.
Project Management
- Manage and support special projects, e.g., the building of new production infrastructure.
- Support integration of Isobionics’ workflow into the BASF environment; in particular, leading further introduction of SAP for production and logistics.
In this role, you will work closely with the EHS Specialists and Site Managers. You will report directly to the Director Operations.
We are looking for someone who has a thorough understanding of both production requirements and commercial necessities. is a hands-on, solution-oriented and creative thinker.
Ideally, you are/have:
- Master’s degree in (chemical) engineering or natural sciences.
- 5+ years of work experience in a relevant field.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Good at handling complex processes covering biotechnological, physico-chemical and chemical processes.
- Fluent in English, plus at least one more relevant language.
- Able to travel internationally.
- A fixed salary based on 40 hours a week (depending on education and experience).
- 10% annual bonus (performance based).
