Organisation description

In Heerenveen we develop and produce water-based resins and dispersions for the printing ink and coating industry. The vast majority of these water-based polymer products are used in sustainable inks for food packaging. In addition, we make high-quality additives that are used not only in the aforementioned industries but also in the electronic, materials and plastics industries. In this way we ensure an optimization of color and gloss of paint and prevent foaming.

Function profile

In this dynamic role you will have various controlling responsibilities, both at the site and in the country and you will contribute to the further digitalization of Finance in The Netherlands. Your tasks include:

  • Acting as interface between controlling and digitalization by supporting digitalization initiatives for Finance & Controlling in the Netherlands. You will do this through development of data flows and dashboards.
  • Being the functional owner of Finance & Controlling Netherlands data blends and dashboards.
  • Inspiring Finance & Controlling process captains of BASF Netherlands on efficiency & effectiveness improvements of Finance & Controlling processes from data perspective
  • Gathering and combining data from various data sources to deliver useful, actionable insights.
  • Conducting ad hoc (big) data analyses using tools like SAP Business Warehouse, Alteryx and Tableau.
  • Forecasting fixed costs for the Heerenveen location to the Regional Business Unit monthly and following-up on issues.
  • Supporting the development of the integrated budget for Heerenveen according to deadlines and in alignment with the Regional Business Unit and BASF Netherlands.
  • Ensuring monthly reporting and the following-up of departmental expenses at the Heerenveen site.
  • Furthermore, ensuring monthly reporting and follow-up of the Heerenveen site manufacturing cost control.
  • Continuously optimizing the manufacturing cost control process and realizing VBM KPI’s within the Netherlands.
  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of financial policies, processes and systems.
Function requirements
  • You have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Econometrics or Finance.
  • You have 2-3 years of working experience in a comparable position.
  • You have excellent knowledge of Dutch and English.
  • You have experience with analyzing and drawing conclusions from (large) datasets and have affinity with digitalization.
  • Knowledge of Excel is a must. Experience with Alteryx/Tableau and SAP is a big plus.
  • You are comfortable working in an international environment and possess the ability to multitask, prioritize and take on several projects at once. You are assertive and not afraid to speak up.
  • You are eager to work on and able to understand a complex subject matter quickly and independently.
