Organisation description

From our site in Oosterhout (NB) we supply admixtures for concrete and mortar. At this site we also have an applications laboratory where our customers can see and experience the possibilities of our products first-hand.

Function profile

Our Procurement EB Europe unit forms the purchasing team for BASF Construction Chemicals for the European market. You will be responsible for two production sites in the Benelux (Ham and Oosterhout). You will be accountable for the Technical Goods and Services and you will work together closely with your colleague in Ham who is responsible for Raw Materials, Packaging and Merchandised Goods.

  • You will ensure the availability of high-performance procurement sources to fulfill all requirements and execute the procurement tasks within the BASF European Construction Chemicals.
  • You will issue RFQ’s in cooperation with the requisitioning department.
  • Furthermore, you will prepare and implement local and regional procurement strategies.
  • Handling supplier management, including selection, negotiation and awarding of contracts and agreements, will also be part of your duties.
  • You will monitor the market on an ongoing basis with regard to price, overall economy and structural changes and will process complaints on your own responsibility.
  • And finally, you will understand the business needs and identify strengths and weaknesses by doing market analysis. On request of the Regional Buyer you will provide market intelligence for category strategy development for Global and Regional Categories and on business requirements.
Function requirements
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Economics.
  • You have gained at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of purchasing. You have extensive subject-specific knowledge and skills related to purchasing and leasing and you have worked on relevant projects before.
  • You are a proficient user of the customary MS Office applications and of SAP.
  • In negotiations and discussions, you are a capable and skilled communicator in both Dutch and English.
  • You don’t mind going on occasional business trips.
